Medical massage isn’t one single technique, it’s a results-focused approach designed specifically to improve symptoms related to a condition that your doctor has diagnosed.
-
Contact your insurance and ask if they cover medically necessary massage.
"Does my plan cover massage therapy, specifically under CPT code 97140 or 97124 if prescribed by a doctor?"
"What is my copay or coinsurance for these services?"
“How many visits will be covered per year?”
"What are my out-of-network benefits for a licensed massage therapist?"
Let them know that I have an NPI number and can provide a superbill for reimbursement.
-
