I’m excited to share that I am now officially a Medical Massage Therapist!
So what does that mean? Medical massage isn’t one single technique, it’s a results-focused approach designed specifically to improve symptoms related to a diagnosed medical condition.
If you have a diagnosed medical condition, your doctor can write a prescription for massage therapy. From there, I create a personalized treatment plan based on your condition and an in-office assessment, which may include palpation and orthopedic testing. I can also provide a superbill (a detailed invoice) so you may be eligible for reimbursement through your insurance.
(You can still sign up for a medical massage without involving insurance.)
-
Your intake form MUST be filled out beforehand.
Make sure to have your insurance card and prescription from your doctor.
-
Please dress in sports/gym clothes for all your appointments.
The initial and follow up sessions may involve orthopedic testing.
You may qualify to have your massage session paid for by your health insurance! Depending on your specific plan, one of these options may work for you:Insurance Billing

I do accept HSA/FSA cards as payment for your massage.

"What are my out-of-network benefits for a licensed massage therapist?"
Some insurance plans will reimburse you for therapeutic massage. Contact them before your session to see if that’s a possibility.
(Some plans have a program that covers a percentage of therapeutic massage as well!)
-
"Does my plan cover massage therapy, specifically under CPT code 97140 or 97124 if prescribed by a doctor?"
"What is my copay or coinsurance for these services?"
Your plan may only cover medically necessary massage.
Request a prescription from your doctor for your specific condition.
Bring the prescription along with your insurance card to your first appointment with me. (Don’t forget to fill out your intake form!)
Together we will develop a treatment plan based on your initial evaluation and symptoms.
You can still get a Medical Massage without insurance.
